Annie’s Barn

Annie’s Barn

Specifications: Barn was built from old growth (or first growth), virgin pine on the farm near Wingina, Va. The standing old growth pines were bigger in circumference “…than two grownups with outstretched arms could successfully encircle the trunk and touch fingertips” the remaining family members recounted from their childhood.

The barn timbers were milled and planed on the farm by the grandfather of the present owners, and built prior to 1908. They just aren’t making this stuff any more!

Some 30+ pine beams have been reclaimed from this barn, 22′ in length and 4″x6″ width/thickness dimensions. With tight grain and accompanying age, these old growth pine beams are solid and dense.   $ 45.00 per beam or the lot of 30 for $1200.00.

The random width planking used for siding and sub-roof on the barn is in excellent shape. Mostly 6-8″ in width and 10-14 ft. in length.

Old growth, tight grain planking 3/4″ to 1 1/2 ” thickness.     Sale price now: $1.60 to $2.50 per linear ft.
